Vehicle categories in Slovenia
Slovenia distinguishes three categories up to 3.5 tonnes. For cars what decides is not weight but the height above the front axle.
Category 1 – motorcycles
Motorcycles and three-wheelers. The cheapest Slovenian category.
Category 2A – standard vehicles
Vehicles up to 3.5 t measuring up to 130 cm above the front axle. Almost every passenger car belongs here.
Category 2B – tall vehicles
Vehicles up to 3.5 t with a height above the front axle exceeding 130 cm – particularly certain vans and taller commercial vehicles.

Measure the height above your front axle
The boundary between categories 2A and 2B is a height of 130 cm above the front axle, not the vehicle's overall height. A roof box or bicycle rack therefore does not change the category. This mainly applies to certain vans and taller commercial vehicles – standard passenger cars generally fall into category 2A. An E-Vinjeta purchased for the wrong vehicle category may be considered invalid during an inspection, so if in doubt, check your vehicle's height above the front axle.

How to order a vignette?
Start by entering the license plate number and the vehicle registration country. Then select the category for a motorcycle or passenger vehicle. For passenger vehicles, pay attention to choosing the correct vignette type – for standard vehicles (2A) or higher vehicles (2B), such as some vans or larger SUVs.
For passenger vehicles, 7-day, monthly and annual vignettes are available. Motorcycles can use 7-day, 6-month or annual options. Select the required validity period and set the start date.
Enter the email address where you want the registration confirmation and receipt sent. Optionally, you can set a notification before your electronic motorway vignette expires.
